GPAQ for nurses

We have developed a version of GPAQ specifically for nurses for those practices who may also wish to survey their nurses. Please note, this does not remove the requirement of the GMS contract to do a survey based on GPs. The same conditions for use also apply if you wish to use the nurses version of GPAQ.

GPAQ for nurses has been adapted from the consultation version of GPAQ. The main differences are that we have combined Q4 and Q5 from the doctor’s version into one question, and we have also removed Q6 (which asks if you need an urgent appointment, can you get seen on the same day). In the doctors version Q4 and Q5 ask about how quickly you get to see a “particular doctor” and “any doctor”, while the nurses version does not specify this and instead asks about “a nurse”.

If you wish to survey the nurses in your practice, you can do this in the same way that you would run the survey using the consultation version of GPAQ, as discussed in Section 2.2 of the GPAQ manual.

We have also made freely available an Excel spreadsheet and Word report to enable practices to analyse their nurse's data.
