GPAQ analysis using Excel

From this page you can download an Excel spreadsheet to analyse GPAQ data and a standard report in Word which produces summary statistics for your practice when linked to the Excel file. Please note that the Excel spreadsheet cannot be used for more than 1000 cases and is really only suitable for individual practices.

Firstly, you should download our instructions that will assist you in using these files, by clicking on the link below. This is a Word document that will take you step by step through how to download and save the files, how to enter your data into the Excel spreadsheet, how to link the Word report to the Excel spreadsheet, and how to produce reports for individual doctors (consultation version only).

Download: "Instructions for Excel Analysis of GPAQ"

We do not recommend you use the files below, without also using this guidance.

Doctors version of GPAQ

Nurses version of GPAQ
Consultation version (conducted in the surgery)   Postal version   Consultation version (conducted in the surgery)

Excel spreadsheet (Consultation Version 2a)

Excel spreadsheet (Postal Version 2a)   Excel spreadsheet (Nurses Consultation Version 2a)

Word report (Consultation Version 2a)

Word report (Postal Version 2a)

Word report (Nurses Consultation Version 2a)

If you use the Excel spreadsheet, the one thing we ask you to do is to email this (i.e. your GPAQ data) to the GPAQ Administrator along with the postcode of your practice. This is for the purpose of maintaining national benchmarks for GPAQ scores and being able to relate these to basic practice characteristics (e.g. urban versus rural). Under no circumstances will NPCRDC publish identifiable data on practices.
